GRADES 4/5
More emphasis is placed on independence, ownership of learning, and responsible behavior choices. Children will have more opportunity to make choices about what they learn within the curriculum structure. Teachers facilitate learning as much as they direct the learning. Responsibility to one’s self and others is emphasized.
In these grades the children take part in classroom music and many will participate in band and choir. Each child will learn proper exercise and play habits from the time spent with the physical education teacher. Students will be able to explore the many facets of technology as part of the daily curriculum. Much of the learning is accomplished through project-based thematic instruction.
